The Roxy Invitational is not a complicated surfing event. It does the opposite actually, and strives to simplify the surfing contest process. The Roxy Invitational is a surf contest where 10 of the best female surfers in the country are invited to surf in an event at a remote location for the first prize of R10,000. It’s unique in format and location, and the remote Mozambican beach, with perennial good waves, is a far cry from the small waves and associated vibes of the normal contest venues along our metropolitan coastline belts. This very uniqueness is what makes the event enticing to local and international media.

Roxy Learn to Surf

The Roxy Learn to surf integrates a fun, healthy and energizing sport into any lifestyle. All girls are taught to surf and gain a comprehensive understanding of ocean safety in the 4-month program. Roxy provides professional coaches, surfboards, rashvests and hosts an end-of-program promo & prize-giving day, which includes snacks, drinks, prizes, goodie bags and give aways. The Roxy Learn to surf has run for 9 years and through this time has taught approximately 9000 young ladies how to surf – some are even a part of the Roxy professional surfing team! Not only is this a great way to stay fit, it also gets girls onto the beach and into a wonderfully healthy lifestyle.

The 11th annual Roxy Wahine Cup Presented By Virgin Mobile In Association with Resolution Health
This premier stand-alone women’s surfing contest which is held in South Africa, is rolling back to the waves of Suncoast Beach. The eleventh edition of this popular event, to be run from the 12 December to 13 December 2009, is set to secure another record entry, and promises to have scores of spectators enjoying the sun and the surfing.
In the event, the Novice Division is always a tightly-contested division, with novices from all over the country who enter. The much sought after year-long Roxy sponsorship is still the coveted first prize for this division, and there are cash prizes for the minor places.
